Malaika Afrocentric Wall Art
Fascinated by the African-painted houses of Lesotho and Southern Africa I wanted to make a series of posters and prints that allowed me to make my own interpretation of African patterns and prints. Traditionally these hold symbolic and ancestral wealth, although today they are seen as honouring ancestors through beauty. Taking this idea I've created my own style and colours to portray themes of strength, femininity and joy. Part of my 2021 abstract series. You can find the others in my shop and you can find more of my illustrations and work on Instagram @emma.make.
This is African art in a contemporary style. Afro-punk, if you will, or afro-futurism. I hope you enjoy this minimalist approach and style.
This print comes as an unframed rolled poster. They are unframed.
The print size will be determined by your country (cm for Europe, inches for the US and Canada)
For USA prints 50x70cm will be resized as 22"x28" and 70x100cm as 24"x36"
Due to resizing, the ratio may differ slightly. This will also be the case for American sizes.
Prints come packaged carefully in a very strong cardboard tube or postal box. Once your item is received, and rolled, roll the opposite way to flatten.
Prints will be printed on 135gsm silk paper.
